  • Why Cold-Processed (CP) Soap? (Part 2) Posted August 18, 2013 | Tags: cold process soap, cp soap, detergent soap, natural soap, skin health

From Why Cold-Process (CP) Soap? (Part 1), we learned that good, wholesome soap should meet the following criteria:

    1. Natural (All-natural is best.)

    2. Chemical/Synthetic free; not a detergent

    3.  Cleanses & nourishes the skin

Cold processed soap can meet all three of the criteria for good soap. Whereas soap you typically by at the store is really more of a detergent than a soap. Commercial soaps (detergents) are laden with ingredients (chemicals) to make them lather well, to keep them from leaving any scum in the tub, to help them perform well in hard water, and to top it off, the big companies remove the naturally occurring glycerin to use as a by-product in other bath, body, and cosmetic products. What is the difference between EB’s Naturals and store-bought soap?

Well, we don’t add any filler ingredients. We keep it truly natural. We don’t remove any of the precious glycerin.  We, at EB’s Naturals, care more about you, our customers, than we do about making a dollar. Yes, our soap might leave some scum (real soap does), but the reality is a little more scrubbing is a simple price to pay for knowing what you’re putting on your skin and your little loves’ skin.

So . . . Do you choose the detergent laden cheaper bar of soap that strips your skin of its natural oils, or do you choose the natural, handmade soap bar that nourishes your skin?

Find out in Part Three why natural soap is more expensive than store-bought soap.
